# Understanding and Developing Azure Functions & LogicApps

It is becoming increasingly necessary for SharePoint Architects and Developers to have an understanding of Azure Functions and Logic Apps. Historically this required a very heavy Visual Studio environment. We are going to give an overview of Azure functions and Logic Apps. We will demonstrate how to do development of these important building blocks from within the lighter weight Visual Studio Code environment. Along the way we will look at the Azure capabilities that allow us to understand the state of the Azure functions or Logic Apps we create.
